Go the Mighty Jets!!

A break from work and seriousness. Our beloved Newcastle Jets won their first ever National title on Sunday in the A-League Grand Final at the Sydney Football Stadium.

Watching it on TV  was obviously no where near as good as the atmosphere at the stadium, so I have been combing the media outlets to summarise all the best bits for myself and thought I’d keep adding to this post as I came across them in the coming days.

The town has not seen such an outpouring of raw emotion since the Rugby League Grand Final of 1997 when the Newcastle Knights won. We cannot wait for the civic reception that is planned for Thursday afternoon !

Mark Bridge is the new Darren Albert of Newcastle sporting folklore!

Andrew Durante was a worthy winner of the Joe Marston Medal for best on ground, due in no small part in keeping John Aloisi & Sasho Petrovski void of possession and limited in their attacks on the Jets Goal.
